The Importance of Wine Blogging
I think as someone who blogs about wine, and particularly the South African wine industry, I feel a certain sense of responsibility towards the wine community as a whole. I believe we, as proud flag bearers of the SA wine industry, have an obligation to support the industry.
I’m certainly not trying to sell the impression that wine bloggers are more ‘important’ than what they really are. After all, I’m simply a guy who enjoys wine J That’s it, there’s nothing more to it. But what is important is that there are millions of people just like me who are able to connect themselves to the wine community through vehicles such as My Wine Cellar.
This generates a valuable cross-section of the target market whereby industry can interact meaningfully with their potential customers. For this reason it is imperative that blogs such as My Wine Cellar represent the wine industry truthfully and impartially.
I welcome public scrutiny by my subscribers and other online users, as this is what maintains our integrity, and less often our sanity. So to all of you out there who ‘keep me on my toes’ with your regular comments… thank you J
Cheers
